Overcrowding Assessment
Environmental practitioners at SSG are able to perform an overcrowding assessment to determine if your council house is statutorily overcrowded. The lack of space and overcrowded conditions have been linked to a number of health outcomes, including psychological distress and mental disorders, especially those associated with a lack of privacy and childhood development.

If our assessment determines your home is overcrowded you could use it to potentially:

✔ Get priority on the council housing register.
​
✔ Ask for a transfer if you already have a housing association or council home.
​
Please note once the assessment is completed and shows the property is overcrowded it is your responsibility to send/share with the concerned local housing department.

How much does the overcrowding assessment cost?
The price depends on where you are located and the type of property. Where the assessment is simple and a on-site inspection in not required the price starts from £50 ie studio apartment.
