Scientific Services Group Ltd offers volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) analysis in air. VOCs are emitted as gases from certain solids or liquids. Typically the concentrations of many of the VOCs is much higher indoors  than outdoors. Our indoor air quality tests for TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compounds), it detects over 500 VOCs  in your home. Results are e-mailed within 10 business days of receiving your samples and results from an accredited laboratory.

The common sources of VOCs include the following:

  • paints, paint strippers, varnishes, finishes, and stains

  • adhesives, caulks, sealants, and coatings

  • vinyl flooring, carpet, pressed wood products

  • plumbing adhesives and sealants

  • Carpets

  • Furniture Fabrics

Irritation of the eyes and respiratory tract, allergies and asthma, central nervous system symptoms, liver and kidney damage, as well as cancer risks

WHAT DOES THE REPORT CONTAIN?

  • The Total Volatile Organic Compound level: an indicator of the air quality in your home.

  • The Contamination Index: Shows the type of air contaminants found in the home. Each CI category shows how your home compare with thousands of others and suggestions where these products and materials can be found. CI is divided into three sections: Lifestyle sources, building sources and mixed lifestyle and building sources.
